Marco is a renowned New York City born and grown pop artist, and Marcoart is the art and lifestyle Marco creates.
Taking advantage of a trip to the UAE in 2014 Marco created a unique series of artworks entitled the Marcoart Big Apple Meets the Mid-East Collection. In this 10 pieces set, NYC and Marco’s emblematic characters meet the Dubai and Arabic environment in often unconventional but always happy ways.
Marcoart invariably communicates lightness and happiness successfully through joyful scenes depicted with subtle simplicity in a comics pop style. Marcoart therefore naturally speaks to children, and Marco never misses an opportunity to share his skills with them so that maybe some will grow to realize that pursuing a career in art can also be a rewarding option and a gift that keeps on giving.
At the same time however Marcoart does not shy away from politics, and the Marcoart Big Apple Meets the Mid-East Collection includes creations that are visual parodies of the paranoia and geopolitical agendas that influence US public opinion and US foreign policy towards the Middle East.
Here the Statue of Liberty sports Muslim attire as does the Big Apple, while the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building are decorated in traditional Arabic fashion. By juxtaposing imagery and symbols in such a way, Marco is sending a clear message against originators of misinforming propaganda, pointing out that they are the real threat to true freedom and liberty.
Marcoart is Art for the People, fueling and providing murals, pop portraits, tribute pieces, children parties, charity events, etc
Marcoart has been commissioned and has co-branded with some of the biggest names in the world of film, television, music, entertainment, politics and business, including Quentin Tarantino, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Moby, Marc Ecko, and Russell Simmons to name a few.
