Carpet framing and Fabric framing are similar techniques used to showcase artworks made on carpet or fabric. We adapt our framing approach to the thickness and strength of each fabric or carpet, for best care and rendering.

If the fabric is strong enough, it can be stretched like a canvas on a wooden structure. A frame can then be added all around.

Often however, fabric artworks are delicate, such as embroidery or silk scarfs. These are handled with extreme care and lightly stretched on a mount board. This again can then be frames with all usual framing techniques, including with a mount board and protective glass.

Thicker fabric or carpet artworks sometimes come in a shape that isn’t exactly rectangular. In that case, we often use a floating box framing technique, where the artwork is sawn on top of a board, which itself can be covered by a specially selected fabric.
