The Lonely Road

Acrylic on Canvas Board by NOREEN MULLA

Reproduction of  Pave De Chaily 1865 , Claude Monet (1840-1926)

Here, the colors used are Cadmium Red, Pthalo Blue, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine Blue, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Yellow & Titanium White. Colors are applied using mixed technique; scumbling, impasto and dabbing. This is one of Monet’s early paintings, using a pre-impressionist style; the rendition is akin to the contemporary style done by his peers. The mood is sombre and scene focussed on the vanishing point where the lane turns slightly, its is like a moment captured by a man set on a long journey.
