Carl March (Original watercolors)
A British artist now based in Dubai, Carl March worked after college in Milan with master printmaker and artist Oliviero Masi, eventually returning to the UK to start his own studio.
His work is characterized by strong drawing and design elements. He likes to experiment with various drawing media to try and create a particular look or feel. These techniques combined with traditional painting processes help create a distinctive subtlety throughout his work.
Before coming to Dubai he was a regular exhibitor in the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibitions and elected a fellow of the RSA. His work is widely represented both nationally and internationally in many private collections. This also includes many commissions one of which was presented to HRH Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace.
'I particularly enjoy visiting Dubai Creek and the surrounding areas. When it is not too hot I like to go and paint at the location, it is full of life and visitors from all over the world. It offers a glimpse of 'old Dubai'. As much as I am attracted to the marvels of the modern city, I am always drawn back to the Creek and its traditional offerings'.
