Huda Serhan

Descending from a family of artists, Huda’s first influence was her grandfather, who created oil paintings of nature and adventure. Inheriting the passion for art, she began sketching and painting during her early school years, developing her style and technique throughout the years.

Inspired by the human element, Huda is intrigued by relationships and people’s self-awareness. Her work seeks to illustrate the individual essence portrayed in love and trauma.

I love to paint portraits full of expression. I am often told that my art is sombre, which I find incredible as people tell the story of what they see in the pieces.

I am very appreciative of so many of today’s artists such as Elly Smallwood, Charmaine Olivia and Nora Martin-Hall who have done incredible work in portrait art. I am continuously learning and being inspired by them and many more of today’s talents.

My strokes are fluid as I learn to move into more abstract creations.  I use various mediums such as oils, acrylic, charcoal and ink.
