“Art is a state of mind. I've always been attracted by any form and expression of art, and I have always performed art in a way or another” says Stefano, who indeed is an avid writer, musician and painter. “I always try to catch art expressions wherever they reveal themselves, even in unusual and unexpected ways. That's an exercise of style that continuously guides my thoughts.”

With visual arts, Stefano is attracted by colors, ideas, matter, scratches… He likes (needs!) to always experiment, something he extensively did in the past while a student of Master painter Otello De Maria studio (called 'La Soffitta'). He did so with various painting techniques, materials and tools (e.g., paper, plastic, wood, recycled material, sandpaper, etc.).

Building on this experience, Stefano now creates mainly abstract work with acrylics on canvas, where geometrical shapes, often squares or rectangles, are blurred with colors to convey the states of mind which he explores. Textures, also, are incorporated in a subtle but meaningful way in his works.

Stefano usually starts with a graphic structure and then looks for illogical perfection. He uses and modifies colors through a sort of shapes transformation process. Paintings come off and mutate under his knives. Until they can communicate their spirit and essence.

Whites, blues, yellows and oranges are some of the colors most often used by Stefano, as can be seen in the collection exhibited through MONDA Gallery.

Stefano originates from Vicenza, North-East of Italy, and moved to Dubai recently with his family. Before refocusing on painting while in Dubai, Stefano wrote poems and short stories extensively, and participated to several literary contests. He loves writing, he says, as a way to communicate with his moods. At the same time for ten years, Stefano toured around Italy and abroad playing drums with his band in countless events and concerts.

Stefano’s abstract works are not intimidating, even joyful, however not naïve as they convey the depth and balance of mind that he’s achieved through the combined practice of multiple art forms.
