Monica Garcia Ricardo, born and raised in Havana, Cuba, is an emerging self-taught artist based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Her work so far is mostly expressionist and abstract. She started to paint in 2018 after experiencing a need of expressing and exploring herself.

Monica has a preference for large format canvases, texture, layers, less possible use of brushes, and a desire of experimenting different techniques, tools and materials. Her wish is to one day have a large studio where she would be able to make large size artworks and a Gallery where exhibit her work and collaborate with other Artists.
Monica has being traveling around the world since early age, she has lived between Cuba, Europe, Asia, South America and now since 2015 is permanently based in the Middle East. She has always being very easily adapted to embrace diversity and multi-cultural environments.
Next for Monica is her desire of evolving, keep growing and exploring her inner-world to be expressed through her art. As an Artist her desire is clear: "I want to connect through the silent language of my artwork with that person that is standing in front of it and that I will never meet’’.
Monica is fluent in Spanish, English, Italian, Russian and French, and has extensively traveled over more than 40 countries.
