Smootch was painted in 2014. The artist, ELIZABETH BRUCE, lives in Dubai and is fascinated by Arabian culture. This is just one piece in her collection of Arabian artworks.
"This painting was done after I visited a camel farm. I was captivated by this young camel who loved to eat carrots out of my hands. The camels were in the pen area and had just been milked.”
Elizabeth has cropped the composition allowing us to focus on the features and expression on the camel's face, which appears to be kissing us. The painting radiates happiness, draws on a palette of naturally harmonious colours.
